Phil Mickelson Wins The 2010 Masters

Sunday, in the final round of the Masters, in Augusta, Georgia Phil Mickelson achieved the ultimate goal for PGM golfers. He won the coveted title at the Masters and for the third time in his career dawned the sought after “GREEN” jacket.

Many golfers, to include Tiger Woods, have said that Phil Mickelson is the most talented golfer in the game today. However, prior to this event, The Masters, Phil Mickelson had been playing very poorly. Not too long ago he found out that the two most important women in his life had breast cancer. I believe that simply clouded his mind and kept him from playing up to his full potential.

This weekend was Tiger Woods come back opportunity and come back he did. His first T shot was as beautiful as his last. Tiger was quoted saying, “I came out to win!” Not only did he play, Tiger Woods hard, but he applied enough pressure to bring out the focus and skill that Phil Mickelson had all along!

Now that Tiger Woods is back in the game, what will the next few tournaments hold? Only the future will tell. Never-the-less, saying that the world is excited is an understatement.

Phil Mickelson played the best game he has in months and truly played to his full potential. Now that Tiger is back in the game, will Phil Mickelson be able to maintain the focus and the drive that he displayed at the 2010 Masters? Only time will tell!
