Tickets Sold Out for the 17th Annual Monday After the Masters Charity Golf Tournament








TICKETS SOLD OUT FOR 17TH ANNUAL HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH MONDAY AFTER THE MASTERS CELEBRITY PRO-AM GOLF TOURNAMENT; MORE CELEBRITIES ANNOUNCED FOR APRIL 11 EVENT

Tournament Records Earliest Sellout Since Moving to Myrtle Beach in 2003

March 28, 2011, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Tickets to the 17th Annual Hootie & The Blowfish Monday After The Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament are officially sold out, according to tournament officials. This is the earliest sellout since the event moved from Kiawah Island to Myrtle Beach in 2003. The event takes place on Monday, April 11 at Barefoot Resort & Golf’s Dye Club.

“It’s amazing how this event just continues to grow and grow each year,” said Paul Graham, tournament director. “Interest in this celebrity golf tournament has never been higher and we want to thank the Myrtle Beach community for supporting it over the years. We are looking forward to a great day on April 11.”

In addition, the tournament has announced more celebrities for this year’s event including: Ron White, comedian; Jim Cantore, The Weather Channel; Shawn Stockman and Nate Morris from Boys II Men; PGA Tour players Brian Gay, Michael Bradley, Scott Stallings and Blake Adams; Stanley Cup champion goalie Grant Fuhr; ESPN Radio show host Doug Gottleib; and actor/entertainer Alfonso Ribeiro.

“Now that Monday After The Masters is sold out, we just hope for a great golf day in Myrtle Beach on April 11,” said Bill Golden, president of Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. “Myrtle Beach will be on the national stage that day and we encourage everyone with a ticket to come out and show the nation why we are the ‘Golf Capital of the World.’”

ESPN Radio’s “Mike & Mike in the Morning” featuring hosts Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic will broadcast their entire show live from The Dye Club on April 11. The popular morning show broadcasts nationwide on weekdays from 6:00-10:00 a.m. on ESPN Radio and is simulcast on ESPN2. Anyone who has already purchased a ticket to Monday After The Masters is welcome to be part of the studio audience for the Mike & Mike Show.

Ticket holders are asked to arrive and park their vehicles at the House of Blues located at Barefoot Landing no later than 5:15 a.m. on April 11. Buses will transport ticket holders to The Dye Club starting at 5:30 a.m. in order to arrive in time for the beginning of the national broadcast. Buses will continue to transport ticket holders to and from the House of Blues throughout the day for the celebrity golf tournament. General parking is not allowed at The Dye Club. Non-ticket holders will not have access to the Mike & Mike Show.

Hootie & The Blowfish will welcome a wide-range of celebrity athletes, entertainers and professional golfers already scheduled to appear for the Monday After The Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament. Returning for this year’s tournament is the 2010 FedEx Cup champion and 2010 PGA Tour Player of the Year, Jim Furyk. Furyk, along with teammate Darius Rucker, ended last year’s tournament in a five-way tie for second place and are looking forward to the chance to claim the top spot. PGA Tour player D.J. Trahan and country singer Steve Azar are the defending pro-am champions.

Also, scheduled to appear are more 30 PGA Tour and LPGA players including: Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey, D. J. Trahan, Woody Austin, Chris DiMarco, John Daly, Robert Gamez and Conway native Kristy McPherson; actors Kevin Sorbo and Gary Valentine; NASCAR drivers Kyle Petty and Michael Waltrip; sports legends and personalities Ric Flair, Jim McMahon, George Rogers, former Coastal Carolina and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Tyler Thigpen; musical artists Jack Ingram, Josh Kelly, Colt Ford, Edwin McCain and many, many more.

Proceeds from Monday After The Masters benefit the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation, which supports the educational needs of children in South Carolina and the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation.
