Hootie & The Blowfish Do It Again - MAM 2012

Masters week is something we, golfers of all ages, look forward to every year with great anticipation. What could possibly be better than The Masters? Nothing, of course... the only event that can even hold a candle to The Masters is the one and only Hootie & The Blowfish Monday After the Master (MAM)!

For the last seven years tickets have sold out in record time and more than 6,000 spectators have counted down the days until MAM. This year, more than $300,000 was raised for South Carolina Charities while celebrities golfers of all calibers competed (competed is far too serious a word), scratch that let's say played, played golf and music; for those who have never attended MAM imagine it less like a golf tournament and more like a day of golf filled with professional golfers, celebrities, music, and memories that will last a life time!

Today was no different. From the time the gates opened at 5:30 am until the last club was swung, professional golfers and celebrities mingled with the crowd, played jokes on each other, and several even broke out in song (and some in dance).

Just a few Pros and Celebs in attendance this year:

Jim Furyk, John Daly, Annaika Sorenstam, Kristy McPherson, Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey, Woody Austin, Kris Blanks, Robert Gomze, DJ Trahan, Rick Flair (MAM favorite), Jim McMahon, Kyle Petty, Michael Waltrip, Jack Ingram, Colt Ford, Steve Azar, Johnny Lee, Javier Colon, Edwin McCain, Andrew Copeland, Dan Tyminski, Bret Saberhagen, and last (on this list) but not least Chuck Finley.

This year the Pro-Am title was seized by PGA Tour player Ken Duke and NFL all-star Sterling Sharp's team with an impressive 20-under par score of 52. Nipping at their heels, the team led by Boo Weekly and Jason Williams finished in second with a 19-under par score of 53.

One thing is for certain... if you attended the MAM this year you will never regret it!! If you missed the tournament this year make plans to attend next year. Tickets always sell out and fast. Make sure to buy your tickets online, or at the box office, the day that tickets go on sale!! MAM 2013 is something that you will not want to miss.

Until next year, around The Masters week, we will patiently wait...
